After 5 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I found the wonder of mothering slowly starting to get crowded out by the mundane feeling. I realized our world seems to surround people with the negative, and complaining about blessings seems totally acceptable. So I decided to fight against that "normalcy" and focus only on the positive. I look back to my first year as a mom when everything was new and keeping house was fun and I aim to have that attitude again. This blog is my outlet to showcase the daily miracles that surround me in my blessed life as a stay-at-home mom so that I will never forget the wonder of it all.

Felicity's Birthday Party Jumper

Tomorrow Felicity is having a little party with her two closest friends.  And what will she be wearing?
This....

The circle?  Its a pocket.  And I'm pretty sure its THE reason Lissy loves this jumper.

She's hugging it.
Jumper love, accomplished.

I had this jumper sitting around on my sewing table for MONTHS needing nothing more than the hem done.  Why?  Well, because I made her two others which she did not want to wear and that's the first time I've made her something that has been turned down.  It halted all further progress on this circle pocket one.  One day I came across it and figured I'd finish it and if she didn't like it, I'd give it away.  She saw it laying out and I noticed her eyeing it a bit.  So, I finished it up one night, hung it on her dresser, and when I woke up the next morning, she had it on.  She LOVES the giant circle pocket.  So, all is well again in the home sewn jumper world, and Lissy has a new Mama made dress to wear to her party.
Happy girls.

  2. Patty Jean, the pocket sure spiced up an ordinary old jumper. And it's SOOOO easy. I just made a cicular "patch" and sewed it on, leaving two openings. Simple. My friend says its very "Mod", but I don't really know what that means.
