After 5 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I found the wonder of mothering slowly starting to get crowded out by the mundane feeling. I realized our world seems to surround people with the negative, and complaining about blessings seems totally acceptable. So I decided to fight against that "normalcy" and focus only on the positive. I look back to my first year as a mom when everything was new and keeping house was fun and I aim to have that attitude again. This blog is my outlet to showcase the daily miracles that surround me in my blessed life as a stay-at-home mom so that I will never forget the wonder of it all.

Catching The Rain

Felicity and Kian watered our new seeds (still in the Jiffy trays) with this wonderful rain water.
This, and the fact that our very large Santa Maria style b.b.q is overflowing with water after being left under the eves of the house, makes Zac extra anxious to harvest rainwater from our roof.  He's been reading up on it for a while.
Next Spring.

  1. such fun to harvest the rainwater. We just started last year w/ a rain barrel, and I must say we love it! What a great way to reuse.
I saw your post over on Our Ash Grove about making waldrof dolls, just go for it. Your first one may look a little funny to you, but your wee ones will love it so much. I get wool from my friends shop swiftrivertoys, and I often get supplies from weir dolls. I make them quite a bit, feel free to contact me if you have questions along the way.

  3. Jenny...your photos are beautiful!!! A lovely idea to harvest what is freely given and return it into something useful. Simple. Wonderful. Fun.
