After 5 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I found the wonder of mothering slowly starting to get crowded out by the mundane feeling. I realized our world seems to surround people with the negative, and complaining about blessings seems totally acceptable. So I decided to fight against that "normalcy" and focus only on the positive. I look back to my first year as a mom when everything was new and keeping house was fun and I aim to have that attitude again. This blog is my outlet to showcase the daily miracles that surround me in my blessed life as a stay-at-home mom so that I will never forget the wonder of it all.

Kicked Out of Yellowstone

We planned to spend a week in Yellowstone.  Instead, thanks to the Government, we found ourselves waking up just 36 hours after arriving, and leaving.
We were kicked out.

Needless to say, we were pretty sad as we traveled the road out of Yellowstone.  The park was deserted and with no one on the road, we took our time and drove very slowly.  I put on "Annie's Song" by John Denver, because it just seemed fitting to listen to John Denver while in such a beautiful place.  And as we left, we looked out our car windows and tried to fill up our senses with Yellowstone as it passed before our eyes.

We exited the park to what felt like near celebrity status.  Cars, tour buses, and campers were parked outside the entrance to the park.  As we exited the park, people stared at us.  We pulled over so that I could get a picture of the kids in front of the Yellowstone sign.  Once out of the car, we had people approach us with, "You got in?  What was it like? Were you asked to leave? Were you allowed to see anything at all?"  All our answers were met with expressions of disgust by these travelers from all over, some as far as Japan and Germany, who came to see God's creation, but were not allowed to.

Well, I got the picture I wanted in front of the sign.

And I got a picture of the kids in front of an unexpected sign too.
