After 5 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I found the wonder of mothering slowly starting to get crowded out by the mundane feeling. I realized our world seems to surround people with the negative, and complaining about blessings seems totally acceptable. So I decided to fight against that "normalcy" and focus only on the positive. I look back to my first year as a mom when everything was new and keeping house was fun and I aim to have that attitude again. This blog is my outlet to showcase the daily miracles that surround me in my blessed life as a stay-at-home mom so that I will never forget the wonder of it all.

The First Weekend of Summer

 A solar system was made...........
..........new bike hooks were installed (just like Daddy's).........

............ house paint was tested out and decided upon.........

......and we spent a WONDERFUL evening with my high school Ag teacher and her family, where I FINALLY got to meet her new little one (and she got to meet the belly).  I gave her newest little boy a quilt I'd made while pregnant with Felicity.  I brought all the fabric home from Maui on one of our pre kid days adventures.  It has sat on my shelf for years needing the perfect home.  I'm happy its finally getting some love!

At 24 weeks today, the children felt their baby sibling kick for the first time!

And the new season was embraced by bringing touches of Summer inside, and doing a few Summer crafts.

And I slept.
A lot!
:)

  1. That bike hook is genius! Love it! Also your homeschooling encourages and inspires me. Thanks for posting all your triumphs and struggles... It isn't lost in the void of the internet, it is very helpful!

    1. Thanks. Funny you'd mention that today about homeschooling. Today we did our normal calendar routine and an exercise learning about the word "orbit" and then we learned facts about Mercury (Lissy also did some "P" work....her letter right now). I wanted to get more in but their brains were on max so I sent them out to play and then questioned the whole thing. LOL! :)

    2. Next time you guys are down here, I know we just missed you, maybe I could pick your brain about homeschooling while the kids play? I'm committed to homeschooling, and excited about it! I'm just feeling overwhelmed at all the options and ways there are too do it... :/

Keep it up! In my opinion the questioning makes you stronger and what you are doing if you embrace it and continue through the struggle. xoxo :)

    3. I'd love to chat homeschooling next time we're there! I don't know if I'll be of much help b/c obviously, we keep switching things up as we question the process. But in all that, I'm becoming a bit more comfortable with the whole freedom of it all.......and being allowed to MAKE those switch ups whenever we want. One seasoned homeschool mom told me that's what its all about...embracing the freedom. But you're right, there is an overwhelming amount of info, curriculum, methods, etc out there, and then you want to balance that with not knowing how the laws will change by the time he's in high school, and round and round you go. I read a blog by a seasoned homeschooler and she said that if you're a good homeschooling mom, you'll NEVER stop questioning yourself, the homeschool paths you took, the curriculums you used, and the methods you embraced.....even when they're older and moved out. That made me feel a bit more normal and heck, maybe even on the right track. LOL!
