After 5 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I found the wonder of mothering slowly starting to get crowded out by the mundane feeling. I realized our world seems to surround people with the negative, and complaining about blessings seems totally acceptable. So I decided to fight against that "normalcy" and focus only on the positive. I look back to my first year as a mom when everything was new and keeping house was fun and I aim to have that attitude again. This blog is my outlet to showcase the daily miracles that surround me in my blessed life as a stay-at-home mom so that I will never forget the wonder of it all.

Pocket Babies

I made these for Felicity's friend's birthday.  I just love them and can't wait to make Felicity a set too so I can have them lying around my house.

So tiny!!!!

I call them pocket babies because I made this little pocket to be worn around her neck so she can carry her baby with her wherever she goes.

  1. No, I first made and stuffed the body, then I sewed a wood bead to the top of the body. The hat covers up the thread going down the back of the head from the sewing on process. It feels a bit wonky when you're doing it, but it actually works. I was skeptical at first. Plus, when you put the scarf on, it secures everything a bit more.

  2. Did you read Rain Babies? Your cute pocket dolls remind me so much of that book.

  3. Becky, I didn't. These little babies were inspired by lots of tiny waldorf dolls I'd seen on Etsy or other crafty mama blogs. One blog gave directions about how to attach the head in a tutorial type fashion. I read it ages ago and just tucked the idea in the back of my brain. Of course, now I can't find that blog to link to. Does the author of Rain Babies have a blog?
